The death of a beloved pet at any age leaves a huge hole in our hearts, and a huge emptiness in our lives.

Boston-based, nonprofit animal charity, Animal Talks (animaltalksinc.com) has received international kudos for its pioneering work in Pet Grief and Loss counseling, and for its guidance in helping all who are struggling with the pain of losing an animal family member to death.

A “thought leader” in the newly emerging realization of the the power of the  animal-human bond,  the work of Animal Talks has been recognized by the Washington Post, People MagazineThe New York Times, London Podcast, ABC/CBS-TV, Dogster Magazine and other media.

Its mission, to help pet parents heal from the profound grief of pet loss,  comes at a time when science is just beginning to recognize that the death of a pet can cause as much pain as the death of any human family member,  emotionally, physically, neurologically and mentally.

The death of a pet changes one’s reality, one’s life totally, and until recently, there were no places to turn for help in processing the grief.

Animal Talks and its grief relief mission have filled this gap, globally.

Animal Talks’ director, Kaleel Sakakeeny, is an ordained Animal Chaplain and ordained non-denominational Pastor, as well as a Credentialed Loss and Grief Counselor/Therapist.

Sakakeeny has been sought after by pet parents across the United States and abroad who seek help and reassurance in their journey through loss and grief, to healing.

While the loss of a pet and pet grief therapy are what Animal Talks is most known for, Rev Kaleel (Rev K) counsels all kinds of losses that people struggle with: loss of relationship, job, health, sibling, home, etc.

The heart of Animal Talks’ work is one-on-one grief counseling.

But it also runs a monthly Loss and Grief Healing Circle where the emphasis is on a community of pet parents working through their grief in a safe, nonjudgemental space.

The Circle encompasses all other kinds of loss too,

Animal Talks also offers Workshops in Writing and Telling the Grief Story, since unexpressed grief cause the heart to break more deeply, and for healing to take longer.

And it conducts an Animal Blessing in honor of St. Francis, in October, and  classes in Animal Communication.

The web site (animaltalksinc.com) is resource-rich with ebooks, articles, videos, commentary and audio that provide immediate and timely help.

Kaleel invites you to get in touch with him directly with questions and curiosities about Animal Talks (Kaleel@animaltalksinc.com) or their South Africa-based team leader, Thembela Makhuba (thembela@animaltalksinc.com)
