Fitness6 Common Challenges People Face When Getting Fit and Some Useful Apps

It’s hard enough to lose weight, but there are also challenges that go along with trying to get fit. To help, it’s good to understand what some of the obstacles to fitness that people experience. Here are three common challenges people face when getting fit.

1. Not Keeping A Proper Sleep Schedule

Hormones play an important role in maintaining fat and muscle. Not getting enough sleep by staying up late or keeping an improper sleep schedule will easily disrupt your circadian rhythm and result in not meeting muscle building or weight loss goals. Going to bed early and waking up early is the optimal sleep schedule for your hormones. The sun’s activation of our pineal gland and its association with wakefulness is so important. Should you find yourself struggling with sleep, you may wish to see if there is anything you could change about your set up in order to help you get the sleep you need. For example, if you find that your bed is uncomfortable, you may wish to check out this sleep Education guide to see what a new bed could do for you. Getting your sleep in check is one of the best things that you can for your overall health and wellbeing, so it is worth putting in the time and effort to achieve this.

2. Thinking Things Will Change Overnight

It may take two to three months or more to attain the body physique you’re looking for. Crash diets and starving yourself will not work in the long run, so you need to realize you’re in it for the long haul. Avoid crash diets and don’t starve yourself. Try and not focus on your diet or exercise and just incorporate it into your life and go on with your day. Fitness apps can help considerably in this regard. You can set the fitness app to remind you of your diet and fitness goals, and go about your life in the meantime.

3. Exercising Too Much

Over-exercising will just fatigue you and drain your hormone levels. Aim for an exercise routine that activates your muscles but doesn’t go on for hours. Intense, long lasting exercise tends to leave you craving for easy calories. High intensity intermittent cardio is a great method to lean out your physique without fatigue. Again, using a fitness app is a great way to keep track of your exercise so you don’t overdo it.

4. Being Nervous At The Gym

The gym is like any other public place. People mind their own business and you don’t necessarily have to talk to anybody else. That being said, if you feel intimidated you can always try another gym. Another alternative is to wear your headphones and focus on the music. The weight lifting area can be especially intimidating. It may take a while before you muster up the courage to start using the weights and machines. It may seem like a special area but it’s not, you can just start using them like anybody else. For best results, ask a trainer at your gym to show you around the weights area and teach you how to use anything you’re unfamiliar with.

5. Buying A Bunch of Supplements

Don’t waste your money buying a bunch of supplements. If you have a lack of one or two elements in your body, it’s okay to supplement as long as your doctor approves. But spending your money on a lot of supplements will sap your budget for more important things for your fitness, like quality food, workout gear and fitness apps. Instead, focus on investing in the right supplements, and avoid the ones that aren’t effective, saving you both effort and time.

6. Stress

Stress, depression, or anything that is taking up a lot of your emotional energy will easily ruin any weight loss or fitness goals you have. Your adrenal glands will get fatigued and you will find yourself unable to muster the energy for your daily exercise routine. Try and find out what’s bothering you and eliminate the source of stress. This is a main reason a lot of people have trouble with getting fit.

Now that you know you’re not alone in dealing with these fitness challenges, it might be easier to handle each of them. Remember, fitness is a lifestyle, not a short-term project. Once you get in shape, it will be easier to face all the challenges mentioned above.

I found this article to be encouraging. Thanks for the tips! I’ll try to incorporate an easy routine at first, then increase it gradually.
