Healthcare4 Ways to Boost Your Health In the New Year

With 2022 right around the corner, it’s only normal that people are starting to think about how they can improve themselves and their lives. For many of us, this means taking a good, hard look at our health.

The holiday season brings with it a lot of extra calories, late nights, sleeping in, less exercise, more alcohol, and the list goes on. When we’re not working, we have a tendency to let go of our healthier habits. This is totally okay, as long as we’re prepared to come back better than ever in the new year. Here are a few ways to kickstart your health after your Christmas break.

Extra Vitamins

Festive food is delicious and satisfying, but it’s not necessarily the most nutritious or rich in the vitamins and minerals our bodies need. In January, it’ll be a good idea to focus on all those you missed out on by filling your plates with colourful fruits and vegetables.

For an extra vitamin boost, you could look into supplementing with a daily vitamin tablet or check out the benefits of IV vitamin therapy to get your body on the right track.

More Movement

The holidays are a time of much-needed rest, but with that might come a bit of unwanted and unnecessary weight gain. To combat this, and to feel various other health benefits, adding some exercise into your daily routine is important.

When it comes to exercise, consistency is the most important factor, so try to pick an activity that you really enjoy. If you hate running, then trying to force yourself into your running gear for the next 365 days isn’t going to be helpful. Instead, pick a fun sport or type of exercise you truly like, such as dancing, swimming, or even just daily walks with your partner.

8 Hours

We all know that we need to get our shut-eye, but few people realise the true importance of healthy sleeping habits. Festivities often result in a lot of late nights, broken sleep and even staying in bed until noon, none of which promote quality rest.

Getting a solid 7-9 hours of sleep every night promotes energy and productivity in our work hours, helps us mentally, and even aids weight loss. A lack of rest can lead to all sorts of health problems, so prioritising sleep in the new year should definitely be on your list of resolutions.

30 Day Break

We all have our unhealthy vices. For some it’s sugar, for some, it might be alcohol, deep-fried foods, or even social media. Whatever your weak spot happens to be, the new year might be a good time to try to break away for a little while and even to use that as a platform to kick the habit for good.

Doing a 30-day ‘detox’ from your unhealthy habit can help your body start banishing the nasty effects and you could end up feeling better than ever. Once the month is over, you should be able to indulge in moderation without going overboard.
