General3 Relaxing Outdoor Locations in Snellville, GA, Where You Can Seek a Bit of Solitude

Snellville has a lot of local tourist attractions. However, when the mind needs to be at ease, you want something a bit more peaceful, and relaxing.

Studies suggest that solitude is good for your mental well-being. While forced isolation can lead to a negative impact, solitude by choice brings in more positive results. It can help in self-development and personal learning.

Studies also suggest that spending alone-time can help bolster your creativity, increase productivity, make better choices and decisions, and most importantly, give you the opportunity to know yourself.

Having established all that, it is easy to see why solitude is necessary at times. And what better way to enjoy it than by becoming one with nature, even if it is for a brief period. So in case you are planning to do that in Snellville, Ga, here are 3 relaxing outdoor locations in the area that you must check out.

#1 South Gwinnett Park

Located in the heart of downtown Snellville at 2115 McGee Road, the South Gwinnett Park covers an area of 23 acres. For a small community park that is quite a large area. The park has two entry points and a half-a-mile long paved trail that visitors use for walking. Other amenities at Gwinnett Park include a kid’s play area, baseball fields, a multipurpose field, picnic tables, and multiple restrooms. Also, in case it gets a little rainy, you can always take shelter under one of the shades located near the playing fields.

The South Gwinnett Park opens at sunrise, which also happens to be the ideal time to go there. Not only is the park empty at that time, but it is also quite refreshing early in the morning. The temperature in Snellville at this time is rather low. Even during summers, you will get to enjoy a relaxing walk along the park trail. The weather in the morning is mostly calm, even when it is sunny. So if it is solitude that you want, morning is the best time to visit South Gwinnett Park.

#2 Briscoe Park

Briscoe Park is one of the cleanest and most well-maintained parks you will ever see. Everything here stays in order, and always in a good condition.

Pate Lake is arguably the center feature of the park. There are also water features, a decent swimming pool with a spray pad, sports fields with exercise equipment, and of course, lots and lots of trees. The trees will keep you cool no matter what the weather is. Even in appalling weather conditions, especially extreme heat, the trees will shade you from the sunlight. For a blissful experience, you can take a walk around Briscoe Park early in the morning or evening.

The lake is a great place to enjoy the sounds of water while you meditate in the morning (although the ducks in the lake might try to bother you with their quacking). Quick note – it is advised that you do not feed the ducks at any cost, no matter how much they quack at you.

For a more relaxed experience, just get a book and sit across one of the many picnic tables in the park, and enjoy a good read.

#3 Ronald Reagan Park

Located on the Five Forks Trickum road, this Snellville park is quite popular among dog walkers. Ronald Reagan Park has plenty of benches and picnic areas. There are tall trees all around the park that surround the walking trail. The ideal time to visit this park is the winter season. You can also visit early in the morning during summer, or whenever the weather is not too sunny or rainy.

You should not visit Ronald Reagan Park if you are planning to meditate, as that sort of arrangement is not present there. Besides, it will be a bit hard for you to find that perfect meditation spot in the park, especially with all those dogs walking around. However, the park is perfect if you are looking for a place to just be by yourself, take a quick walk, and just enjoy a bit of peace and tranquility.

While there are a few other places in Snellville that can cater to your solitude requirements as well, these 3 are the absolute best in the business. So do check them out if you are ever in Snellville, or moving there any time soon.
