What is body sculpting?

It should be noted that body sculpting is not a viable weight loss solution and is meant for those who cannot reduce certain areas where fat cells are located after attaining their desired weight. Body contouring focuses on these stubborn areas of fat pockets through radio waves penetrating targeted locations, which will cause a high vibration to break up fat cells. This treatment will prove to be a much safer alternative to liposuction and other surgical methods of fat reduction as no incisions will be nessecary, and results can be visible at a much quicker speed than surgery. This treatment will require multiple sessions for the best results.

How non-invasive body sculpting works

There are a couple ways to undertake non-invasive body sculpting. The patient can ultimately select the method they feel the most comfortable with and can choose between the following:

  • Coolsculpting: Coolsculpting targets areas on the body that has a significant build-up of fat with a cupped or panelled device that is placed on top of the area you want to be treated. The device’s temperature will be lowered to a level that will freeze the fat cells and virtually destroy them. The skin and nerves around this area will be completely unharmed during this process, and it will take anywhere between a half hour to an hour.
  • Laser treatment: Body sculpting laser treatment is similar to Coolsculpting as it targets areas of stubborn fat pockets that destroy fat cells. However, the laser utilizes controlled heating instead to destroy it instead of freezing it. This procedure will take 25 minutes to complete, and results will be visible between six and 12 weeks.
  • Red light therapy: This method is one of the newest technologies recently approved by the FDA. Red light therapy involves a special lamp that facilitates wavelengths into the skin, shrinks fat cells and minimizes targeted areas. After three months, results will emerge with only a 30-minute timeframe to complete the treatment.

Candidates for body sculpting

Various factors will depend on whether or not you’re a good candidate to receive body sculpting, mostly pertaining to your current health. Some qualities of a good candidate for body sculpting include the following:

  • Have a stabilized weight
  • Have no medical conditions, particularly around the skin, that could impact how you react to the treatment
  • Not taking any medications that could be harmful to you when receiving the sculpting
  • Have realistic goals relating to the results you’ll see after the sculpting procedure

Areas body sculpting can focus on

Sculpting is a great way to contour and refine certain areas of your body without undergoing intensive surgery. But what areas can this treatment enhance? Some of the most prominent areas that acclimate fat cells that can be reduced include:

  • Calves
  • Thighs
  • Stomach
  • Waist and back
  • Neck
  • Facial region
  • Upper arms

These particular areas are susceptible to fat build-up due to age and genetics and can be mended using one of the varying sculpting treatments available.

Recovery

One of the main benefits of body sculpting is how minimal the recovery time is compared to other cosmetic procedures. While you might feel slight discomfort during the treatment and for a very short time afterward, as well as short-term bruising in areas that were treated, there is no need for any downtime, and you will be able to return to your routine immediately afterward. You will be able to see results after receiving a handful of treatments between two weeks and three months, depending on how well your body reacts to the procedure.
