Medications
When you are discharged from the hospital, you will be given prescriptions for a number of different drugs. Some of these medications will be required for a few months following surgery, while others will be required for the rest of your life.
All of your pills should have been crushed, and all of your capsules should have been opened. Because of the operation, you will not be able to absorb full pills and it may have difficulties travelling through your new digestive tract.
Vitamins and nutritional supplements
You must take vitamins and supplements on a daily basis in order to avoid nutrient deficits from occurring.
Multivitamin
Chewable multivitamin and mineral supplements with a minimum of 18 mg of iron and 400 mcg folic acid per serving are recommended. Selenium, copper, and zinc should be consumed on a daily basis.
For at least three months following your operation, take two tablets daily, and then one tablet daily for the rest of your life.
Calcium

In order to maximise absorption, take the calcium supplement in two to three separate doses spread throughout the day. Take, for example, three 500-600 mg tablets three times a day for three days. Calcium citrate is the most commonly used form of the mineral.
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin.
Take 800 to 1,000 international units (IUs) of vitamin D every day, preferably in the morning. Taking 400 to 500 international units (IUs) twice a day with your calcium supplement is an appropriate way to consume this total amount.
Take a combination calcium-vitamin D supplement instead, as long as it includes the required amounts of both nutrients to avoid taking multiple pills.
Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin
Take 500 micrograms of vitamin B every day. A tablet or a liquid under the tongue might be used to administer this medication. Keep in mind that whole pills must be crushed.
It is possible that you will require more folic acid or iron supplements, particularly if you are a female who is still menstruating. This will be discussed with you by your nutritionist.
Birth Control and the Risk of Pregnancy
In order to avoid pregnancy within the first two years following bariatric surgery, we recommend that women of reproductive age utilise adequate birth control.
Fetal compromise and birth abnormalities may result from the physical demands of pregnancy placed on your body by your growing baby.
Your ability to consume typical amounts of a well-balanced diet while also losing weight quickly will have an impact on your nutritional status.

Returning to the Workplace

Some folks, on the other hand, require an additional two weeks. The time it takes to regain full strength varies from person to person, but it is normally around 6 weeks.
