GeneralHow Is Technology Influencing the “Nose Job” Processes & Outcomes?

There can be many thoughts behind undergoing a ‘nose surgery,’ including combating sinus forever or permanently getting a desirable nose shape. However, many people consider the treatment as ideal for getting a beautiful-looking nose, correcting the face structure perfectly.

Living in this looks-conscious world has compelled many people to look for options like nose surgery to correct their features as desired. And why not when it promises to ensure you remarkable results?

What has changed so far?

The past decade has proven revolutionary for the world of cosmetic surgery. One of the remarkable changes in the involvement of technology in cosmetic treatments like nose surgery. As per ASPS (the American Society of Plastic Surgeons), the latest technologies have left a huge impact on the nose reshaping industry.

The 2016 records from ASPS reveal to perform up to 223,018 nose surgeries in a year. With this, the researchers record a 115% growth rate in cosmetic treatments and surgeries since 2000.

When did ‘rhinoplasty’ begin?

In 600 B.C., a surgeon created and reshaped a nose using a piece of cheek flesh. Later on, by the end of 1000 AD, the concept of rhinoplasty became a highly recognized cosmetic treatment procedure.

Gaspare Tagliacozzi is recognized as ‘the father of plastic surgery. Gaspare invented the concept of reconstructing a nose with slashed-off flesh pieces during duels. He preferred most of the flesh from the upper arm.

The influence of technology on rhinoplasty treatments explained –

Be it reducing the surgery time or advancing the treatment’s efficiency, the involvement of technology in rhinoplasty has helped millions of people attain progressive results. As per studies for rhinoplasty at Cheng Plastic Surgery center, the method assists in reshaping and redefining the nasal tip, nostrils, and bridge portion. It works as an ideal treatment for that natural-looking outcome while effectively enhancing the sleeping and breathing pattern.

The use of frequency power tools –

Discussing rhinoplasty without mentioning gentler technology seems incomplete. Initially, this technology was used in the dental domain. It encompasses the use of piezoelectric instrumentation. This was introduced in the 1990s to upgrade the quality and approach of different dental treatments.

Piezo is a gentle crystal that vibrates at a high frequency. This equipment is used to cut through different hard tissues (or bones). But when piezo touches the soft tissue, it ceases to cut and vibrates in one place. The use of this equipment in nose surgeries eventually resulted in less bruising and bleeding.

The equipment was first tested in the United States by a renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Laurence Berkowitz, in 2010. Dr. Laurence used it to obtain better results in rhinoplasty and chin enhancement cosmetic treatments.

 The last line –

Rhinoplasty, aka nose surgery, nose reshaping, or nose job, is a cosmetic treatment working on the central segment of the face. One of the biggest challenges in rhinoplasty is narrowing nostrils and reshaping the nose tip.

But the involvement of power-packed tools and medical equipment has simplified the treatment considerably. As a result, more and more people tend to look upon such cosmetic surgeries positively.
