Everybody should look after themselves really, it’s something that is inherently known yet inherently put to one side. There’s even a saying that says something like, ‘If you don’t look after yourself then no one else will, most people want somebody to care for them so why don’t more people take care of themselves?  Probably because it’s human nature to like things that aren’t good for you…

The human body mass is made of around 60%, or more by water, as such, you should consume more water than you do food! With that in mind, you’ll soon start to realize that you don’t consume enough of the good stuff and that you might need a health check sometime soon!

Stay Properly Hydrated

Probably the single, most important thing that you can do for yourself is to stay properly hydrated, which might sound easy but, it’s no joke. The average person should consume around 8 glasses of water per day, probably more if they like to exercise! Sometimes you just don’t feel thirsty, so why would you drink if you don’t have a thirst?

Your body is a remarkable thing really, it can, if needed go for quite some time without food, and a shorter time without water, sometimes without you realising it. However, if you often feel tired, have headaches, low motivation and generally any kind of feeling that makes you feel negative, it’s likely through lack of enough liquids in your system.

Ensure to Eat a Balanced Diet

It’s an odd sensation to experience, and one that only really starts to take place as young people mature and turn into adults. Normally when they are self-sufficient and looking after themselves, happy to have their own space and freedom when all of a sudden, they hear their mother’s voice in their head!

Usually, saying something like, make sure you eat a properly healthy, balanced diet, or make sure you eat all your fruit and veg. Well, thank God for mums because number one, whatever she said, she must have said it enough for it to have sunk in, number two, she was right! A balanced diet is important, so much so that you might turn into what you eat!

So, if you eat a load of crap on a daily basis because it tastes good, believe me, if you turn into what you eat, nobody’s going to want to have a taste of you anytime soon, no matter how appealing you might be to the eye!

Keep Active

Far too easy to not do these days, especially considering how many jobs require a person to sit on their backside In front of a computer screen or such all day! Keeping active and exercising as much as you can is super important, so important that if you don’t keep things moving, they will eventually stop moving of their own accord.

Just like a well-oiled machine really, the human body only needs a few essentials, the rest is down to general maintenance and making sure that life balance is in order, that the mind is right and that you are being the best person that you could possibly be to yourself. Remember, the type of exercise that you choose doesn’t have to be boring. Sitting on an exercise bike or watching the world go by on a treadmill is a surefire way to kill motivation, so consider alternatives like golf, martial arts (like these), or even water sports like Surfing.
