We all want to be as healthy as possible without sacrificing too many of our guilty pleasures, right? If you’re looking exactly for that, you’ve come to the right place. Most of these tips come from an OB-GYN, namely Alyssa Dweck, MD, co-author of V Is for Vagina. Let’s take a look.
Speaking of OB-GYN, if you yourself happen to be one or know an aspiring one, then you might want to see this list of OB-GYN jobs in San Francisco.
Easy Tips for Women to Stay Healthy
Let’s see what some of these tips are. And yes, you will see that they are indeed as easy as we have made them out to be!
1. Forget Dieting
Yes, you heard that right. Many women mistake dieting for a healthy lifestyle. That’s far from the truth. What matters, in reality, is moderation. Commit to a healthy lifestyle that includes healthy eating and balanced meals rather than dieting. You could even cook your own desserts such as this recipe that contains fruit so is healthier than just having ice cream. The canned peaches boast all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients of fresh ones. If you need to lose a few pounds, all you need to do is limit your caloric intake. That’s it. You can eat that piece of cake or chug that glass of wine if you want to, just make sure you won’t be exceeding the number of recommended calories.
2. Have Good Sex
Uuh, naughty! But, yes, unlike what your pastor might say, sex is very good for you if done right. When you’re enjoying sex, you greatly reduce stress levels and the chances of developing chronic diseases. But that’s the key – you need to really enjoy it. If you feel too dry or too uncomfortable during sex, you might want to visit your doctor.
3. Get More Sleep
Who doesn’t want to sleep more? That’s right, getting more sleep, especially if you’re physically active, is highly recommended. Not only that, but if you feel tired on a daily basis, you might be lacking enough sleep, so the trick is to get more of it. And the best part is that getting enough sleep can decrease your risk of heart disease and psychological problems.
4. Start Thinking About Fertility
So you don’t want kids right now, which is great and all that. However, studies show that women who give birth tend to be much happier than those who forego this natural process. If you want kids at a later stage in life, keep in mind that many women tend to lose most of their fertility after the age of 30. Thus, it’s time for you to seriously consider your options. Talk to your doctor about freezing your eggs or other methods to ensure you’ll stay fertile for longer.
5. Stay Away From Stress
Sure, it’s easier said than done, but once you learn the patterns of what stresses you out, you should begin to understand how to avoid them. Do yourself a favor and stay away from people you don’t like. Avoid engaging in activities that annoy you. And, most importantly, get another job if your current one simply isn’t offering you the necessary satisfaction when compared to your workload and skill level.
6. Exercise Just a Little More
Getting lazy can be pleasant – for a while. Afterward, you’ll start noticing the downsides. If you start tiring early, then a little more exercise won’t hurt. Women need a mix of cardio and resistance or weight-bearing exercise to prevent the most common ailments affecting people in their gender category. It’s science. And no, you don’t need to exhaust yourself. Just push a little more and more each time until it gets easy. That’s the trick.
The Bottom Line
These tips should help you lose those extra pounds, gain some muscle, enhance your athletic abilities, and raise your overall happiness levels. Once you start practicing these tips you’ll start to see a drastic change in your mood and behavior after a while.
All we can say now is that we hope you’ll be able to keep up with these things and benefit from the results that they offer. Keep us posted in the comment section below.
