TALK WITH THE COUNSELOR Aims to Help Listeners and Guests Learn More

About Mental Health and Healing

*Show will be Shared Across Digital Platforms and Radio*

Bend, OregonTALK WITH THE COUNSELOR,  a new online weekly show being shared across digital platforms and on streaming radio at WBKM launched today. Hosted by licensed counselor, Baruch Zeichner, guests book 10-15 minute phone sessions that are recorded and then aired every week. Zeichner invites anyone interested to go online to the showwebsite and book a session (for free) to be included. Episodes include real people calling in with their issues for a conversation with a licensed counselor. In addition to the sessions, Talk with the Counselor will also feature special guests, experts and specialists speaking about mental health, current practices and access availability. The shows website will also share mental health tips, links to resources, and more.

As a society we are coming to terms with the reality that addressing mental health issues openly and honestly, without stigma, is crucial.  Right now we are in a mental health crisis.  We are facing life changing cultural issues and biological threats to our very survival as a species.  Now more than ever, access to mental health services must be a priority,” shares Baruch Zeichner, Licensed Counselor, Talk with the Counselor.

Zeichner has been a practicing licensed therapist since the 80s. He is trained in a variety of therapy modalities including talk therapy, creative therapy, body-centered therapy, cognitive therapy, and hypnosis. Zeichner currently has a very busy teletherapy practice. The counselor holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education from Goddard College and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England. He has practiced Psychotherapy, Massage Therapy, and Body Oriented Psychotherapy for over 30 years and has taught at various colleges; psychology, massage, human sexuality. In 2013, Zeichner moved to San Francisco to help start a group home for people with Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD, and addiction. He then settled in Central Oregon in 2015.  In 2019, he resumed practicing psychotherapy remotely.

Zeichner created Talk with the Counselor to provide an open source for people listen to others dealing with issues, similar to theirs or not so similar, in an effort to bring mental health to the forefront of our daily practice, wellness and lifestyles. In addition to being available for listeners on WBKM and on the shows website, Talk with the Counselor will be posted on other digital platforms including iTunes, iHeartRadio, PlayerFM and others. New shows will be posted on Wednesdays.
